Today I discovered a place in the middle of the city I grew up in that I never knew existed! I drive by Summit Park on almost a daily basis and yet, it's been hitherto unknown to me. By shear accident I stumbled upon it, and I think it deserves a return trip or two.

After that, I ended up in the Songhees area of Vic West watching the sun set over the harbour and the hills. Is there anywhere better in the world?

Last night I listened to the band Champion for the first time. I so liked what I heard, I was thrilled when offered a free ticket to their concert tonight! Opening for Champion was Vancouver dance-punk sensation You Say Party! We Say Die! who ably warmed up the crowd.

After YSPWSD, Champion brought the house down with their beat-heavy electronic blues stylings. The tracks I heard from their album last night was light and fluffy campared with the gritty thumping riffs that kept the crowd jumping up and down more than the 5 guitarists on stage! Two weeks from now, Champion is playing at the Junos, where they are nominated for Dance Recording of the Year.
