Not much activity on the ol' blog these days, and pretty quiet on the photography front too. Busy-busy on the outside world, and prep for a trip to Cuba - I'm saving my picture-taking finger for severe exhaustion over the next week. I pretty stoked for unleashing my G6 on Havana; I'm borrowing some 1GB memory cards from work so that I am not limited in any way!

It's going to be a fabulous 8 days at an all inclusive resort. I'm looking forward to sun, relaxation, and unlimited cool drinks! Long sandy beaches, tropical waters, and Cubanos don't sound too bad either. Don't expect to hear from me until after the 8th...

Laundry and house tidying beckon, so off I run.

Sitting at work under the harsh fluorescent tubes - the only complaint I have with my current job - I bop my head in time with Deep Dish pounding in my ears. The normal hurly-burly of a Monday is compounded by the imminent release of our largest project to test. I sit surrounded by a flurry of developers working on this project - the lone island of calm (albeit bopping away to the tunage in my head) amidst the 'last leg' stress.

My nickname on MSN lately has reflected my moods - generally pretty awesome. Sh*t is getting done, and I am all over it. I can hardly believe the speed at which the days are going by. Take for instance today. Sure, perhaps I didn't even get around to strolling into the office until just before noon, but since then it's been a well-paced day. It feels kinda like a loping cheetah: only a maintainable jog to me, but distance is covered at a very good pace.

Outside of work, everything else is going well too. Contract stuff in its final phases, and social life is purring along smoothly in line with everything else. Sure, perhaps there are those who have not been given enough attention of late, but we're in the process of remedying that.

Contentment is the watchword all 'round these days. Nice!

Thought I'd try some black & whites out. Thanks again to Jessie for the Apalachian Legacy (and the TH art) - the stills in that book are quite inspiring.

First day back at work today; it was busy but manageable. A visit from a tech celebrity broke up a pretty heavy day of coding. Coming home after work, I find myself very drained metally. It feels good though ... I think!

On the flip side, I'm getting pretty excited for my upcoming vacation. Still no confirmation on where or when, but it's coming!

Oh, but sleep first - mmmm, sleep!

A new camera (well, since November), a new tripod, a new job, a new year: the road ahead looks good! Happy New Year - may it bring us all amazingness.
