Tee-hee, I'll tell you a secret: I took last night off! (shhhh!!) It's true; I went and enjoyed myself with friends for a Friday night fun fest rather than pit my poor glazzies viddying a computer screen. And before that, a wander through a cemetary, taking pictures.

It's been too long since I took my camera out for a stroll, and it felt good to be out enjoying the evening sun. I'm looking forward to spending some more time in that graveyard (down the end of our street), but that'll have to wait until October and the return of free time to my life.

I already feel the guilt coming on as I have much to attend to, and that same sun of yestereve has already slipped its way past the noon hour, and is even now hurtling towards evening again. Oh sure, it's not even 12:30 you say ... well I know better, and if you give our friend Sol an inch, he'll take a foot! ... and before I know it, it'll be evening again, and I'll not have made a dent in my work for today.

So, I bid thee a quick farewell, and trundle off to more industrious pursuits. And yes, Davin, I am working for you!

Wednesday evening: still working. Only 2 weeks left until everything HAS to be done so I can go away. Well, I'm going no matter what, but ...

Staring down at my hands with my square eyes, I note some extra veins bulging out to the rhythm of my typing. It's almost 0200 and I realize dimly that I've been in this chair, at this table, facing this computer screen for probably over 12 hours now. A few stops for things like lunch and dinner, and a brief pause to get a drink once in a while, but otherwise steady typing and/or furrowed brow.

Only two more days left in this long weekend, and so much more to do. I've already missed one planned social event, and hope that I won't miss more. Unfortunately, when I get into modes like this, leaving the computer is as painful as staying.

Sheena just pryed herself from the couch and, I expect, is preparing for bed. I suppose I should join her, as my focus is waining - proof of which being that I am typing these words rather than creating a login script for one of my contracts.

Time for blogging and photographing seems to be at a minimum these days, but at least it's paid work. There seems to be a lot of it however, and less of it tightly in my grasp at 2am on a Sunday than it was or seemed on Friday afternoon.

Perhaps thinking about it will only make it worse. Better to concentrate on the positives: I do have two more days to knock down the pile of work on this project, I'm learning a bunch of new things as I go (got PHP5 installed late last night), and I'm making good money for all this work - it's not like I'm sacrificing myself! And I've had a hot blonde giving me strokes of encouragement, love, and support all day while I type.

So, not so bad. But my brain does hurt some. Bedtime for sillybuggers...
