Who said anything about a holding pattern? Oh, maybe that's just what's happening. The world just continues while I wait for life to deal its hand. I know that that is not really the way to do things - normally I take the action required myself, but there are too many things going on. I'm working on the third of the three main issues right now, and letting the two others (intertwined and more complicated) sit for a bit.

Things cannot stay this way, however. A cookie told me so.

I trundle through another day. I wear my bitterness like an undershirt at work - no one can see it but me, and I gladly cast it off when I come home. And now I'm feeling a little laid low again. After the hellish month of overtime, my body is crumbling at the seams. Sooo tired, and *sniff* *cough*.

At least I am not alone in this. My officemates, and steady companions for the lion's share of the last month, are also exhibiting the same symptoms of overworkedness. At times, the office makes sounds reminicent of a Rubbermaid commercial:

*sniff* *cough, cough* *sniff* *cough* *sniff, sniff, sniff* *cough*

Ah, the rhythmic sounds of three frayed bodies struggling to keep it together.

Last weekend marked my first days off since mid-February. A record-breaking 26 straight days! This resoundingly beat out my previous record of only 18 days, set way back in January this year. Is it any wonder I haven't posted a blog entry forever? And what is this "party" thing of which you speak?

Wednesday marks the mid-week, and DAMN, am I looking forward to Friday. Mmmm, sleep!

What a week of highs and lows. I am now firmly ensconced in "middles". I am also tired. Ahhh, how nice to have come full circle. It is Thursday afternoon, and that means almost the weekend. I see it coming with mixed feelings. On the one hand, it will mean no getting up before 0730 for work, and I will enjoy myself tomorrow night. On the other hand, I will spend the lion's share of my weekend at the office. What is this, the third week with no weekends in a row?

I am so sick of going to work wearing nothing but a single, ratty sock covering my genitalia. My cow-irkers don't seem to notice, but I get so cold going between the car and the building.

It's just after 4pm, and that means the last 3.5 hour stretch of my work day. Yeah, I've been here since before 0830, but I've gone on at length previously about the hours I'm working. This part of the day is probably got to be my favourite. Things are winding down for most of the others, so I can expect fewer and fewer interruptions tonight.

I'm getting closer to having my part of the project done, and though I have to come in on the weekend, it's nice to see a decently-sized row of green "DONE"s next to many of the tasks on my list.

With my headphones on and exceptional aural stimulation from mr dj ariz0na, it's all smooth coding from here on in.

bright rectangles of eye strain
deep progressive sound
