Whoa - a week and a half of silence! Forgive me; I have been ill. Down since Thursday with a wikked head cold. I'm mostly better - enough to make it to work today, but still not 100%.
So, yeah, no Halloween for me. That really SUCKED. And then I heard from absolutely everybody over the weekend how much fun Halloween was. You all can go to hell! ;)
Sunday was okay - the only okay day of the weekend. I managed to go outside for a few hours, as Sheena and I both had some errands to run.
On the first pass through town looking for parking, we passed Craig. On the second pass, at precisely the same spot, we passed Davin. We met up for coffee some 30 minutes later (with Davin et al, not Craig), after I'd managed to park the car. Well, actually, we'd both parked and shopped in that time.
Jim (where's your website??), Davin, and Neil all spent some time trying to convince me on the "buy a camera, you bastard" front. I've been thinking about it for a while - in fact I think I even mentioned it here a while ago, saying something like I think posting with pics would make it easier for me to write - not that I seem to be having any problems in that dept anymore.
So anyway, I had some ideas of what I was looking for in a camera, and, well, accidentally kinda got one.
It's okay, though - I have 15 days to return it for a full refund!!
It's pretty slick, from the little I've tried it yet. I dunno about the price tag exactly, either. I mean, it's decent for the quality of camera, but dude, my bank doesn't do loans like that for anything short of a car! ;)
(Okay, for those who use and are dying to know, Canon PowerShot A-80)
Anyway, it's under evaluation for now (as you can see from the pics I've posted here), and there are some more photos here. I'd love to know what people think of them - positive AND negative. You're going to help me decide if I'm going to stick with this rather expensive purchase.
Thanks, btw. =)
Oh dear - I just realized that Paint Shop Pro seems to have rather messed up the quality of the shots. I guess I'll have to get some suggestions on good re-sizing programs from my photographic friends.
